How to find Loch Roag Guest House

DIRECTIONS
Important: Some SatNav systems have incorrect directions for reaching Loch Roag from Stornoway.

Current mapping providers (including google) have incorrectly labeled a single track road as the main road. Although this will get you here, it makes it more complicated than it needs to be to find us.

From Stornoway

  • Take the A859 to Tarbert
  • At Leurbost, turn right on to the A858 which leads to Callanish.
  • This road will take you across the moors to the villages of Garynahine, Callanish and Breasclete.
  • Once you reach Breasclete please refer to our road signs on the main double track road

From Tarbert

  • Take the A859 to Stornoway
  • At Leurbost , turn left on to the A858 which leads to Callanish.
  • This road will take you across the moors to the villages of Garynahine, Callanish and Breasclete.
  • Once you reach Breasclete please refer to our road signs on the main double track road.

The Island of Lewis is the main island in the Western Isles or Outer Hebrides.

The main town, Stornoway, is the terminal for the ferry from Ullapool.

Regular flights by Loganair from Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh, London and Manchester arrive at the airport which lies just outside the town. Journey time by air is approximately 30mins from Inverness and 50mins from Glasgow.

The ferry from Ullapool takes 2hrs 40mins while the ferry from Uig (Skye) to Tarbert (Harris) takes 1hr 35mins.
